For the Schliachtanudeln cut onion into fine rings. Fry in a large pan (non-stick or steel pan) until crispy and remove from pan.

Add milk and water to the pan and add the gray cheese and Zieger. Add salt, let it melt slightly, then add the pasta.

Pour the milk and water so that the pasta is covered. Stir a little, then reduce to half heat and let simmer until pasta is cooked.

A brown crust on the bottom is a must! Add butter flakes on top, pepper, serve with chives and onion rings.
