The long grain rice rubbed with a tea towel is roasted with the finely chopped onion and the cored, strip-cut peppers in the hot oil until light yellow and infused with the hot water.

Add the peeled, quartered tomatoes and soften long grain rice and vegetables for about 20 min.

Cut the meat into cubes and fry briefly in the fat with the chopped garlic clove. Sprinkle paprika over it, pour hot water on it and you stew the meat with closed lid until soft.

Mix long grain rice and meat together and season with salt.

You can whisk sour cream into the long grain rice or you can steam the meat with a little bit of red wine. An excellent rice meat can also be cooked with chicken meat according to the same recipe.

The Serbian rice meat turns out especially well when it is cooked in the stove with the lid closed.

Our tip: Use sweet red wine for a sweet note and rather dry wine for flavorful, spicy dishes.
