Instructions:

Roll up the strudel dough according to the package instructions and stretch it out a bit if necessary.

Roast the almonds and breadcrumbs in a pan without fat until golden brown.

Sprinkle the almond-crumb mixture on the strudel dough and top with cherries. Sprinkle lemon zest and sugar on top. Fold in the edges of the dough and loosely roll up into a strudel. Brush the surface with melted butter.

Bake the strudel in a hot oven until golden brown on sight (like an apple strudel). Allow to cool slightly and serve.
