For the sour cherry chocolate cake, first beat the egg whites until stiff.

Melt the chocolate in a water bath.

Beat the egg yolks, butter and sugar until fluffy. Stir in chocolate, nuts and cinnamon. Fold in beaten egg whites. Mix flour and baking powder and fold in as well.

Line a baking tray with baking paper and spread the mixture on it. Spread the sour cherries on top and bake the sour cherry chocolate cake at 160 °C top/bottom heat for approx. 35 minutes.
