(*) For a cake springform pan of 24 cm ø.

Cook the macaroni in boiling salted water until al dente, pour it into a sieve, let it cool down and drain it well.

Heat the butter, add the onions and leeks, sauté and add the soup. Cover the frying pan and cook the vegetables until almost tender, cool.

Mix egg yolks, cheese, sour cream (1) – freshly grated – and steamed vegetables. Season the glaze and add small cubes of ham to taste.

Butter the cake springform pan and sprinkle with breadcrumbs.

Mix the macaroni with the glaze. Whip the egg whites with the salt until stiff and fold loosely into the macaroni mixture. Spread the mixture evenly into the prepared cake springform pan and sprinkle the freshly grated cheese (2) on top.

Bake the macaroni pie in the heated oven at 200 °C for forty minutes.

Remove the macaroni pie exactly from the mold and put it on a plate.

Serve with a separate tomato, mushroom or herb sauce and/or seasonal salad.

Tip: Always use an aromatic ham, this gives your dish a wonderful touch!
