Instructions:

Boil sugar, water and wine. Rinse the pears and remove the skin. Cut out the core. Cook in the liquid on low heat for about half an hour. Please do not stir. Remove pears with a slotted spoon. Mix cornstarch with cold water. Add to the boiling liquid. Bring to a boil. Pour over pears. Bring to the table warm or out of the refrigerator.
