Instructions:

Stovies is a Scottish leftover meal that is exceptionally popular as a simple evening meal. The most important thing in this dish is the onions and potatoes. In fact, the meat can be replaced with 60 grams of grated Scottish cheese, which is sprinkled on and lightly browned under the broiler.

Peel the onion and potatoes, cut the onion into narrow slices and the potatoes into thick slices. In a large heavy frying pan, sauté the onion for 2-3 minutes over low heat. Add the potatoes, season with salt, season with pepper. Now close the frying pan and cook the whole thing at the lowest temperature for an hour. The potatoes should be cooked. Add the chopped meat, heat briefly, season and serve on the spot.

Traditionally, people eat oat cookies with it and drink cold milk.
