For the chard casserole, cut washed chard into 100 mm long pieces. Blanch stems for approx. 10 min., leaves only briefly in boiling salted water. Cool leaves and stems and drain.

To prepare sauce, dice bacon, fry in hot oil. Add chopped onions, steam until soft with lid closed. Add peeled tomatoes, cut into slices, and ketchup. Season with salt, soy sauce and pepper, cook for a few minutes.

Fill the chard into a gratin dish, cover with mozzarella slices and bake the chard casserole in the oven at 180° C with circulating air on the middle shelf for about 35 minutes until golden brown.
