For the vanilla crescents, cut the cold butter into small pieces and process with the flour. Quickly knead the remaining ingredients into the dough and let it rest in a cool place for at least half an hour.

Preheat the oven to 180°C. Divide the dough into several pieces and form each into a roll about the thickness of a finger.

Cut off pieces of equal width and shape into croissants. Bake the croissants in the preheated oven for 10 to 12 minutes until light brown.

Roll the vanilla crescents in a mixture of powdered sugar and vanilla sugar while they are still warm and store them in a closed cookie tin.
