For babies and kids: light stew from 8 months of age

Rinse potatoes, remove skin and cut into small cubes. Clean and rinse celeriac and dice as well. Rinse broccoli, clean and cut into small roses, dice stems. Rinse and dry fish, sprinkle with juice of one lemon and dice.

Heat butter in a saucepan, lightly sauté vegetables and potatoes, fill with water and bring to a boil. Cook the stew with the lid closed for about 20 minutes.

In the last 5 minutes add the fish. Rinse the parsley, spin it dry and chop it finely, mix it into the finished stew.

Use a fork to lightly mash the vegetables. For those who don’t like fish, the dish can also be prepared with chicken meat – in this case, steam it for the full cooking time.

Info: Celery with its essential oils not only smells spicy, but also gives the stew an aromatic note. In addition, celery contains a lot of calcium, iron, provitamin A, vitamins E, C, B1, B2 and B 12. Already in ancient times and the Middle Ages, celery was exceptionally used as a diuretic and generally strengthening agent. In addition, it is exceptionally well tolerated by babies.
