For the wholemeal burger buns, dissolve the yeast with the water and sugar. Mix the remaining ingredients in a bowl and add the yeast water and mix to a dough.
Cover the dough ball and let it rise in a warm place for 1 hour. Place the dough on a floured work surface and knead. Form 4 balls and place them a little apart on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
The balls should have a smooth surface without seams, otherwise they will crack during baking. Flatten the balls slightly by hand and let them rise, covered, for another 1 hour.
Brush the dough blanks with the egg white and sprinkle with sesame seeds. Bake at 185°C top/bottom heat for about 12-15 minutes, until they have slightly colored. Leave to cool on a wire rack.
